I told you so.

Those are my brother’s words, and if Ryker burns me, I know he’ll say them again. But it’s hard to worry when I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I wasn’t looking for anyone when I found Ryker, but now that I have him, I can’t imagine anyone else in my life.

I think the feeling is mutual, because his eyes light up like fireworks every time he seems me. We’re always together, and if we aren’t, he’s blowing up my phone with all his texts. Not only is he the kind of man I want, but he fits in with my friends seamlessly. Living on cloud nine, I let my emotions slip and I say those three little words before I can stop myself. “I love you…”

But he doesn’t say it back. Doesn’t say anything, actually. It’s awkward, but I know in a couple days it’ll go back to normal and we’ll just pretend it never happened. But it doesn’t go back to normal…not even after several weeks.

I don’t want my brother to be right—but I think he is.
