A Cat for Troy is a wonderful slow-burning paranormal romance! AllieMcCormack has penned a thrilling, action-packed story that moves alongat a decent pace. Although this is part of a series, I had no troublereading it as a standalone. However, I believe the other books tell thestories of other characters in this book so it is recommended to readthem all to get the full picture. This is more than just a paranormalromance; it's about two people who find each other against the odds,against everything life throws at them. This is a very different take on shifters, as most shifter stories focus on mating and bonding rightfrom the start. It is a clean story with a nice storyline and somelikable, well-developed characters you will relate to instantly. Every cat owner can relate to Katerina and Troy! I've read a lot of shifter books, but this one stands out as truly unique. Katerina/Cat is an impressive young woman, a successful fashion designer, in her human form. In her other form, she's a beautiful calico Maine Coon whose behavior is exactly what we'd expect from a cat - part demanding queen, part lackadaisical feline who just wants to spend the day basking in a sunbeam.

She's done it! I always said if I was going to be a shifter I'd want to be a spoiled housecat. Author Allie McCormack has written a housecat shifter and I knew I had to read it. This was an entertaining tale of love, magic and danger. Troy is a sweetheart and Katerina is awesome as Cat. The villain was really creepy. I think I would have enjoyed this more if I'd read the previous two books but as it stood I really liked this tale.
